The National Voluntary Childcare Collaborative

The National Voluntary Childcare Collaborative comprises 8 national non-governmental organisations which work with children in Ireland, each with a special interest and expertise in childcare and early learning for children. The NVCC was set up in 1999 and brings together the diverse range of expertise of these organisations to work towards the development of excellence in childcare services in Ireland.

Na Naíonraí Gaelacha

Na Naíonraí Gaelacha is an independent, voluntary organisation for Stiúrthóirí Naíonra (Naíonra Leaders) which was established in 1974. The primary aim of the organisation is to help Stiúrthóirí around the country by providing educational programmes and services.

Spraoi

Spraoi is a publishing company based in the Conamara Gaeltacht in the West of Ireland. They produce a range of posters, charts and books in Irish for children. ‘Spraoi!’ aims to help children to learn Irish in an enjoyable way by providing educational aids which are bright, cheery and fun.

Futa Fata

Futa Fata is a small independent record company and publishing house. Futa Fata was set up in 1997 to bring the music of bilingual songwriter Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin to the world. There are now two strands to Futa Fata’s work, namely material aimed at grown-ups and productions created for children (though many former children also find these releases of great interest).

Cló Iar-Chonnachta

Cló Iar-Chonnachta publishes a wide range of literature and music including anthologies of poetry, short stories and songs, novels, teenage fiction, children’s books, theses and history books.

Gaelscoileanna

Gaelscoileanna is a national organisation which was established in 1973 as a National Committee for Irish Language Schools. All schools which function through the medium of Irish are ordinary primary and post-primary schools, which operate under the normal rules of the Department of Education. Irish is the language of instruction in these schools and is the language of communication of the teachers, children and management boards.

Comhar na Múinteoirí Gaeilge

Comhar na Múinteoirí Gaeilge provides support and guidance to teachers teaching through Irish or teaching Irish.

Foras na Gaeilge

is the body responsible for the promotion of the Irish language throughout the whole island of Ireland.

Gael Linn

Gael Linn is a non-political, non-governmental organisation, established to foster and promote the Irish language and its heritage throughout Ireland.

Language Planning

Comhdháil Náisiúnta na Gaeilge

Comhdháil Náisiúnta na Gaeilge is a representative body of 23 Irish language organisations. Activites include language planning and policy making, information services, politic lobbying and campaigning, organising training, seminars, conferences and establishing new initiatives.
